Overview

Jeff Kirk earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a certificate of advanced studies in educational research from The University at Albany, a MEd from the University of Oklahoma in Instructional Psychology and Technology, a bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland and an associate’s degree in liberal studies from Regents College. He served in the United States Army for more than 30 years and held every leadership position from team leader to command sergeant major. His final active duty assignment was as the Command Sergeant Major, United States Military Academy, where he served as the senior enlisted advisor to the Superintendent, USMA.

Since his retirement, he has worked in State government and more recently has worked in partnership with Dr. Steve Vitucci, as a consultant to local governmental agencies in an effort to assist in the assessment and transformation of organizations, improving measures of customer service and satisfaction, team building and conflict resolution along with strategic planning for organizational effectiveness. In addition to being an associate professor at Texas A & M University-Central Texas, Dr. Kirk was the Founding Dean for the Dean for the College of Education, served as Associate Provost and Senior Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, and is currently serving as Dean, College of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Kirk is active in service to university and community and has served on a number of System, University, College, and Community Councils, Committees, and Boards to include: A&M System Council of Education Deans, Academic Council, Strategic Planning Council, and Faculty and Administrator Search Committees.

Dr. Kirk is committed to the community and has acted as the lead co-principal investigator for several local and regional projects designed to inform local leaders on issues related to community services and activities.
