Dr. Mike Hillis is currently the dean of the Graduate School of Education at California Lutheran University, a position he assumed in 2015. Prior to arriving at Cal Lutheran, Mike taught at East Tennessee State University for three years, Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) for 18 years, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Norway. The recipient of a number of grants through the years, Mike has recently assumed the co-director position of Project Acabado, an HSI grant to develop a pipeline of underrepresented STEM teachers. Mike’s writing and research interests include the moral assumptions of multicultural education, leadership and mimetic theory, and the development of community partnerships.
